Heleen Hobelman was born in Wish (1971).
The purchase of a painting by a Belgian artist laid the basis of her painting career. He convinced her to take lessons with him. After eighteen months she stopped these lessons.Only years later she decided to take back the brushes in hand. Now with a clear vision about art. "Art should be more than decoration." It has a subtle lead role to play in a room. She refined the techniques taught and managed to give an own substance to contemporary realism.
Characteristic of her work are the large canvases in which the spectacle runs along the edge of the canvas. Hyper realistic painting, using the technique of the old masters. Although the chosen subjects radiate simplicity they manage to impress the viewer. Her work is bought by both fans of still lifes and the abstract pieces of art.
