Clay, glaze and glass are the resources that I can work with, can shape and can apply colour to.
The possibilities that these materials offer, the surrealism and the beautiful art created by others have inspired me to make my art into 3D shapes. Ceramics and glass each have their own techniques and that is for me a challenge; to exploit this and to carry it into the impossible. An even greater source of inspiration is all that nature has to offer and especially the shape of the fish.
The fish is an animal which is always recognized, no matter how it is placed. This also applies to the amount of colours that occur in fish, innumerable and inexhaustible.
When ceramics and glass fuse my work gets a fourth dimension, the transparency, the play of light and colour can then be fully utilized.
The beauty of surrealistic art is that the combination of different topics each time poses a challenge and a drive to make ceramics and glass art."
